YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer freshman goalkeeper Iyan Hernandez was named NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after recording a pair of shutouts over Yavapai and Eastern Arizona.

Hernandez played 160 minutes last week without allowing a goal. The freshman goalkeeper was named the ACCAC DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after making nine saves in a pair of Matadors' wins.

In the win over Yavapai, Hernandez came in early in the first half and made a pair of saves as the Matadors knocked off the Roughriders 4-0 at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott.

Hernandez's first career start at No. 16 ranked Eastern Arizona, making a season-high seven saves as the Matadors picked up a 3-0 win over the Gila Monsters.
