Léa Fréchette named Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week"
YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western softball player Léa Fréchette is this week's Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week." The sophomore outfielder began last weekend's six game homestand reaching base in 12 consecutive plate appearances by way of base hit or walk. Fréchette hit a walk off homerun against El Paso Community College in the Lady Matadors 11-1, six inning win on Friday, February 6th, adding two doubles, six singles, three walks and scored seven runs during her impressive stretch. Léa Fréchette elevated her batting average from .200 entering the homestand to .400 after the Lady Matadors six game homestand in which they won all six games. Arizona Western defeated El Paso Community College twice and North Idaho College four times. Arizona Western is now 8-2 on the season and will next be in action on Friday, February 13th, when they host Luna Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 pm MST at Charlie Dine Field.
