Arizona Western College has announced the hiring of Joel Pricket as head softball coach, becoming the ninth coach in program history. Prickett has won 727 career games and has led teams to six NJCAA DI Softball Championship appearances, including three top-five finishes.
The Arizona Western Lady Matadors Softball team saw its 2024 season come to an end on the first day of the Region I Tournament on Friday afternoon in Thatcher, Ariz., losing game one 6-4 to Pima before falling to the host Eastern Arizona 11-1 in six innings.

The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors Softball team (27-21, 19-13) wrapped up the 2024 regular season with a home doubleheader with Pima (39-12, 26-6) on Saturday afternoon, losing game one 5-1 before losing game two 7-2 at Charlie Dine Softball Field.
