Marsai Mason named Chapman Yuma Player of the Week
YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western men’s basketball player Marsai Mason is named Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week." The sophomore followed up his ACCAC Player of the Week honor by setting a collegiate career high with 26 points in the Matadors 94-90 loss to Eastern Arizona on Saturday, January 24th. Along with his 26 points, Mason also added 11 rebounds and five blocks in the contest. Mason's double-double marked the eighth time this season that he's achieved the mark. Mason's previous career high for points in a game was 24 which he achieved twice this season on November 26, versus Community Christian and most recently on January 17th, versus Southern Nevada. Currently, Mason leads the Matadors with 15 PPG and 8.9 rebounds per game. The Matadors will next be in action this Wednesday when they travel to Central Arizona on Wednesday, January 28th, tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm. The Matadors will be back home this Saturday versus Cochise College for 4:00pm afternoon start.
