Arizona Western Matadors Softball freshman Rauni Gallegos was named the Chapman Automotive Athlete of the Week after helping the Matadors to a four-game series sweep of Central Arizona over the weekend.

Gallegos went 8-for-14 with a double and a triple while driving in five runs for the Matadors. The outfielder collected two hits each of the four games with the Vaqueras and had a double and a triple in the series finale.
