YUMA, Ariz - Arizona Western Volleyball's Esther Asiedu is named this week's Chapman Automotive Group "Player of the Week." The sophomore from Ghana turned in a terrific week for the Lady Matadors, compiling a hitting percentage of .350 and above for three straight matches helping lead Arizona Western to a 2-1 record last week. During Arizona Western's loss at Glendale College on Wednesday, September 24th, Asiedu compiled a whopping .643 hit percentage followed by .350 against Yavapai in Friday night's win and .375 in Saturday afternoon's win over the Roughriders. For the week, Asiedu compiled 50 attempts resulting in 26 kills and averaged a hit percentage of .456. The Lady Matadors are 10-3 this season and 4-1 in conference play. Next up for Arizona Wester, a road trip to Thatcher, Arizona this weekend to face ACCAC leader Eastern Arizona on Friday and Saturday.
