YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Baseball team (3-0) picked up a pair of wins, beating Utah State Eastern 16-10 before finishing off the day with a 4-3 win over Southern Nevada on Saturday afternoon at Morse Stadium.

Robert Miranda and Sergio DeCello combined to drive in seven of the Matadors' 16 runs in the 16-10 game-one win over Utah State Eastern.

The Matadors opened the scoring in the first game, scoring three runs in the first inning thanks to an RBI triple from Bronson Beave, a Fausto Sanchez RBI single and a Taehyung Kim bases-loaded walk.

After Utah State Eastern scored five runs in the bottom half of the first inning, the Matadors scored six in the third, four of which came off a DeCello grand slam. The Matadors added two more in the fourth inning on a Miranda two-run triple and then tacked on three in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
