
Baseball opens homestand with 10-0 win over White Rock
YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Baseball team (26-12) returned to the win column with a 10-0 win over White Rock on Tuesday afternoon to open a four-game homestand at Walt Kammann Baseball Field.
The Matadors used a six-run second inning to pull away from the Tritons early as Nathan Houston went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.
Matadors' starter Aiden Schmidgall tossed four shutout innings, allowing just two hits and recording a strikeout to earn his fifth win of the season, while Cade Webber and Yoni Castro combined to finish off the shutout with three scoreless innings in relief
Bronson Neave went 1-for-4 with a triple and drove in a run as six different Matadors' hitters recorded RBIs in the win.
The Matadors open up a three-game ACCAC series with a doubleheader on Friday, March 28, with game one set for 12:00 pm at Walt Kammann Baseball Field.
