All-American Marmolejos selected to play in NJCAA Men's Basketball All-Star Game

Arizona Western College Matadors Men's Basketball sophomore AJ Marmolejos was selected by the  NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association to play in the 2024 NJCAA Men's Basketball All-Star Game.

Marmolejos was one of 27 players selected to play in this year's event held in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Orleans Arena on Saturday, May 18, at 4:30 pm Pacific time.

The Arizona Western guard led the Matadors in scoring in his sophomore season, scoring with 22.7 points per game, and was the ACCAC's second-leading scorer while finishing third in the conference in steaks at 2.1 per game.

Marmolejos set a career-high in points with 35 points against Cochise on December 13 and scored 30 or more points in four games, including in two of the final four games of the season.

The sophomore from the Dominican Republic was named an NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Second Team All-American after finishing fifth in the nation in points scored with 680 and was the ACCAC DI Player of the Year.

With the selection, Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball has produced an NJCAA Men's Basketball All-Star in back-to-back seasons.
