THATCHER, Ariz. - The Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball team (2-2) couldn't keep pace with the No. 24 ranked Snow College Badgers (4-0) on Friday afternoon, falling 94-70 at Gitteau Gym.
Matt Anglo led all Matadors' scorers, scoring 16 points, finishing the game as one of two Matadors to score in double-figures, joined by Edwin Suarez who totaled 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Anglo hit a three to pull the Matadors to within a point at 22-21 before Snow College went on a late first-half run, scoring the next 21 points to push their lead to 22 points. Snow shot 63.4 percent from three while the Matadors hit four of just 10 attempts in the loss.
The Matadors are back in action on Saturday, November 9, taking on Utah State Eastern at 2:30 pm at Gitteau Gym on the final day of the Reigon I/Reigon 18 challenge.
