Eight Matadors score in double-figures in Men's Basketball's 126-57 win over Community Christian

YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College Matadors Men's Basketball team (18-7, 9-5) returned home and found themselves back in the win column with a 126-57 win over Community Christian (2-19, 0-15) on Wednesday evening at the House Gymnasium.

The Matadors started the game on a 19-0 run and scored 64 points in the first half, outscoring the Saints 64-27. The Matadors eclipsed the 60-point mark in the second half as well, scoring 62 points to score 126 points, the second most points scored this season.

Cam Atkinson led all scorers, scoring 22 points off the bench for the Matadors, hitting a game-leading four three-pointers in the win.

Eight Matadors scored in double-figures as both Kaleb Myers and Leano Rolle each scored 16 points in the win.

Paora Winitana was the Matadors' leading rebounder, grabbing a game-high 11 boards in the win and Edwin Suarez dished out six assists while scoring 14 points.

The Matadors return home on Wednesday, February 19, hosting Yavapai in an ACCAC showdown at 7:30 pm at the House Gymnasium.  Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors while Arizona Western College students get in free with their AWC ID.
