
Anglo leads Men's Basketball to fourth straight win, beating Central Arizona 78-67
COOLIDGE, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball team (21-7, 12-5) won its fourth consecutive game, beating Central Arizona (11-18, 6-11) on Wednesday night with a balanced attack that featured three Matadors in double-figures.
Matt Anglo scored a team-high 19 points, scoring 12 of his 18 points in the first half to help the Matadors win their fourth consecutive game.
The Matadors scored 45 points in the first half and led by as many as 12 points before taking a 45-45-39 lead into the locker room. The Matadors quickly pushed the lead back in double-figures and held the Vaqueros at bay for the remainder of the game, once again upping the lead back to 12 points. Arizona Western survived a late Vaqueros push and held on for the 78-67 win.
Kaleb Myers was the Matadors' second-leading scorer, scoring 15 points and Edwin Suarez scored 12 points in the Matadors' win.
The Matadors wrap up the regular season on the road, heading to Henderson, Nev., on Saturday, February 28, taking on College of Southern Nevada at 5:00 pm.
