YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 1 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Men's Soccer team (12-0-3, 9-0-2) finished its conference schedule with a 3-0 win over Paradise Valley (4-11-1, 2-8-1) to push its winning streak to five games.
After playing a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Matadors broke through in the second half when Luis Munoz Valencia provided the Matadors' game-winning goal in the 58th minute to put the Matadors in front 1-0.
Terry Makedika netted his 13th goal of the season in the 69th minute to extend the lead to 2-0 before Paolo Grizzetti provided the final tally, scoring in the 88th minute in the Matadors' 3-0 win.
Arizona Western will open postseason play on Saturday, October 28 in the Region I final against an opponent to be determined at 7:00 pm at Matador Soccer Field.
