Men's Soccer erupts for 25 goals in 25-0 win over Community Christian

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 8 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Men's Soccer team (4-1) scored a season-high 25 goals in a 25-0 win over Community Christian to open the home portion of the 2024 schedule on Saturday night at Matador Soccer Field.

The Matadors scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the game and scored 12 in the first half. Saneyuki Yamagata led the Matadors with four goals, scoring all four in the first 45 minutes of the game while Karim Nlamu scored a pair of goals in the first half.

Arizona Western picked up from where they left off, scoring four goals in the first four minutes of the second half.

Aiki Sadaoka recorded a second half hattrick for the Matadors scoring three goals while Klidi Stermolli added two more as the Matadors scored 13 goals in the second half.

Goalkeepers Esteban Gonzalez and Mathias Nielsen combined to keep the Saints off the scoreboard, each splitting the 90 scoreless minutes in the win.

The Matadors head back on the road on Tuesday, September 10, heading to Prescott, Ariz., to take on Yavapai at Ken Lindsey Field at 4:30 pm.
