YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 6 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Men's Soccer team (6-1-1, 4-0-1) scored four goals in the second half to come from behind to beat College of Southern Nevada (2-5, 2-3) 6-4 at Matador Soccer Field on Tuesday night.
Iman Ouedraogo scored three goals and added an assist in the Matadors' win, opening the scoring in the third minute on a long run, putting the Matadors in front 1-0. Tupoliwe Kyumba doubled the lead in the 20th minute off a header on a corner.
The Coyotes of Southern Nevada went on to score three goals before the break to take a 3-2 lead, before scoring a goal early in the second half to push the lead to 4-2.
Ouedraogo pulled the Matadors to within a goal at 4-3 with his second goal of the night in the 66th minute. Aiki Saodoka leveled the scoreline a few minutes later at 4-4 off a cross from Ouedraogo. It was Ouedraogo who put the Matadors in front with his third goal of the game before Hiromasa Iwai put the game away in the 83rd minute with the sixth and final goal.
The Matadors head north to continue conference play on Saturday, September 28, taking on Mohave Community College in Bullhead City, Ariz., for the first time in program history at 4:30 pm at Firebird Field.
