YUMA, Ariz. – Eight Arizona Western Matadors Men's Soccer players participated in the 2025 ACCAC All-Star Showcase this past weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., at the annual Mayor's Cup Invitational Showcase.

Defenders Tupokiwe Kyumba and Kosei Sasaki were joined by midfielders Fernando Carvalho, Daniel Coke, Haruto Horii, Hiromasa Iwai, and Justin Vallelian along with forward Saneyuki Yamagata represented the Matadors on the Red Team. The Matadors teamed up with members of Yavapai and Southern Nevada to earn a 1-1 draw against the Yellow team, featuring players from Mohave, Eastern Arizona, and others from Southern Nevada who were split between the two teams.

Hiromasa Iwai recorded a point in the contest, tallying an assist on the lone goal for the Red Team in the 1-1 draw.

This year marked the first year in which the ACCAC Sophomore All-Star Showcase was held at the Las Vegas Mayor's Cup International Showcase which is the nation's largest soccer tournament and showcase.
