
Arriola and Corral leads Softball to 5-1 win over Snow College at Great Western Shootout
YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western Matadors Softball team (2-4) kicked off the second day of the Chapman Automotive Great Western Shootout with a 5-1 win over Snow College (3-5) on Friday morning at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
Krisilyn Corral and Autumn Arriola each had two hits with Corral going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Arriola finishing the game 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in, in the win.
Corral tossed a complete game, allowing just one run on five hits and striking out four to earn the win in the circle for the Matadors.
Snow College scored first, scoring its lone run of the game in the top of the first inning before the Matadors plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run single from Arriola and an RBI double off the bat of Corral.
Arriola drove in her third run of the game in the fourth inning with a double and the Matadors added their fifth run in the fifth inning on a Nadya Moreno RBI single.
The Matadors wrap up play in the Chapman Automotive Great Western on Saturday, February 1, at 1:15 pm hosting North Idaho College at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
