YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 6 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer team (4-0, 2-0) scored four goals in the first half on its way to its fourth consecutive win, beating Yavapai (2-2, 0-1) 4-0 on Tuesday night in Prescott, Ariz., at Ken Lindley Field.
Linka Ono scored a pair of goals, securing the brace to help the Matadors win their second consecutive conference game.
Maria Lopez opened the scoring in the 13th minute, giving the Matadors a 1-0 lead before Yui Suetsugu doubled the advantage with a goal five minutes later.
Ono scored the of two goals of the night in the 23rd minute and capped off the Matadors' scoring in the 31st minute, pushing the lead to 4-0.
Tindra Biedermann tallied her third shutout of the season, making a pair of saves in the win.
The Matadors are back on the road on Saturday, September 14, heading to Thatcher, Ariz. to take on No. 16 ranked Eastern Arizona at John Mickelson Stadium at 7:00 pm.
