YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 4 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer team (10-0, 8-0) picked up its third win against a fellow ranked opponent, beating No. 19 ranked Eastern Arizona (5-3-2, 3-3-2) 2-0 on Tuesday night at Matador Soccer Field.

Arizona Western controlled the game for the majority of the first half and were finally able to open the scoring in the 30^th minute thanks to Naho Yamamura who blasted a shot out of the reach of the keeper just under the bar to give the Matadors a 1-0 lead.

The Matadors added their second goal of the game in the 72^nd minute off a corner kick when Fernanda Quiroz struck a ball into the open net after the keeper punched the ball to the top of the box off the Matadors' corner to push the lead to 2-0.

Matadors' goalkeeper Iyan Hernandez recorded another shutout, making a save in 90 minutes to lead the Matadors to their 10^th consecutive win.

The Matadors are back on Tuesday, October 15, heading to Douglas, Ariz., for a matchup with Cochise at 3:00 pm.
