Women's Soccer scores 21 goals in rout of Community Christian

YUMA, Ariz. – The No. 4 ranked Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer team (12-0, 10-0) won its 12th game in a row by scoring a season-high 21 goals in a 21-0 win over Community Christian (0-10, 0-9) on Thursday night in Loma Lina, Calif.

The Matadors scored 12 goals in the first half to take control of the game before finishing off the contest with nine goals before the game was called early at the 70th-minute mark.

Yui Suetsugu led the Matadors with four goals, scoring three of them in the first half and freshman America Chavez set a season-high with three goals, scoring three of the Matadors' first four goals in the win.

Linka Ono was the third Matador to record a hat trick, scoring three goals while Asa Yamazaki and Dianna Taddei each scored twice in the win.

Matadors' goalkeeper Iyan Hernandez played all 70 minutes, recording the shutout in the win.

The Matadors are back in action on Saturday, October 19, taking on College of Southern Nevada in North Las Vegas, Nev., at 7:00 pm.
