Matadors Women's Soccer sophomore Dobbins signs with Arkansas State

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Women's Soccer sophomore Leigha Dobbins has signed to continue her collegiate soccer career at Arkansas State University after playing in 36 career games for the Matadors over the last two seasons.

Dobbins helped the Matadors reach the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship in her two seasons at Arizona Western, guiding the team to a national runner-up finish as a sophomore in 2024. The defender scored nine career goals and recorded a pair of assists while also appearing in between the sticks at goalkeeper in a pair of games.

The Motherwell, UK native scored the game-winning goal in the Matadors' 2-1 win over Salt Lake in the 2024 West District Final to help the Matadors earn their second consecutive trip to the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship and third-ever appearance in program history.

As a freshman, Dobbins played in 18 games and scored seven goals, and started two of the Matadors' three games at the 2023 NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Championship.

Arkansas State University is an NCAA DI institution located in Jonesboro, Ark., and competes in the Sun Belt Conference.
