Yamada earns Region I Libero of the Year honor

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Volleyball sophomore libero Rana Yamada was named the Region I Libero of the Year after helping the Matadors to a Region I regular season title.

Yamada finished the season with 300 digs, averaging 3.30 digs per set, and had 26 service aces this season. The sophomore from Japan had a season-high 22 digs in a 3-2 win over Eastern Arizona on October 5.

 Yamada had 16 matches this season with 10 or more digs and two matches with 20 or more digs.

From the service line, Yamada recorded a season-high three service aces in the Matadors' 3-0 win over Southern Nevada on October 24.
